4. Agenda
- Plantings At least 24 rose bushes will be planted at Clark Beach, Summer plants will need to be in before Memorial Day weekend Dominic will take care of the plants, The plant tubs at Lawton Ave and Shore Rd will need to be repainted white.
- Beach Signs We will need to get permits for our new signs, Neil obtained the sign regulations and it is apparent the regs are not being followed by the businesses, There are handmade signs, sandwich signs on the sidewalks, and multiple signs for the same establishment that makes the beach look seedy.
- Snow Fences The fences need to put back up and tied with wire, Pete explained he has the ties and the tools for the repairs.
- Beautification Award There will be an annual award at the yearly meeting to honor Beach contributors over the last 40 years.
- Butt Cans Carol will head this up as the experiment worked well last year
- Adopt an Island We tried to landscape the traffic Island at Crandall and Shore Rd. but the sponsor fell through. We will need to find a new sponsor in the business community, Perhaps the MBA can come up with a sponsor.
- Web Page Bill Gonzalez has been working with Pete on this project. The page is just about ready to go public, Great job!
- Donations for Beautification We discussed plantings along the parking lot fences, around the gazebo and the fire house lawn.
- Beach Facilities The facilities are still in process of being updated. Improvement includes new toilets, sinks, doors, ceilings, flooring and lights. This is a very expensive but needed project. We still need to paint the outside of both facilities through private bids or volunteer work. Norm will get some bids and Neil will ask Gill for an estimate. The color should not be blue but probably gray.
- Tee Shirts We talked about Beach Tee Shirts that we can sell to help us maintain the beach. Dominic will get some estimates on prices.
5. Adjournment We will go to the beach to view the progress.
