MINUTES OF FIRE DEPARTMENT MEETING
OF THE
MISQUAMICUT FIRE DISTRICT

June 7, 2005


The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Captain Steve Howard. The meeting minutes from the May 3, 2005 meeting were read.  A motion was made, seconded and voted to accept the meeting minutes.  The Treasurer reported a balance of $6470.67, of which, $2621.78 is in the contingency fund. A motion was made, seconded and voted to accept the Treasurer's Report.


Chief Misto

-Will be burning brush at old Allison property on Shore road.

-Watch out for seasonal traffic.

-Misquamicut Club Fireworks will be July 2, 2005.

-New truck delivery expected to be July 22, 2005.

-Annual Meeting set-up Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

-Getting grant money for new gas detector.

-Turnout has been excellent.

-The kitchen is almost done.


Deputy Chief Turnberg:

-First incentive meting was held.


Deputy Chief Findeisen:

-Nothing to report.


Training Officer Mike Misto:

-Boat training next Monday.


Committee Reports:

-Sunshine Committee-Phil Siniscalco was in the hospital.


Communications:

-None


Unfinished Business

-A motion was made seconded and voted to end the probationary membership period of Phil Allen.

-A motion was made seconded and voted to accept Angelo DiSpirito as a 6-month probationary member and Michael Johnson as a 6-month junior probationary member. 

 
New Business:

-A motion was made seconded and voted to accept offer of $1800.00 for unneeded kitchen equipment.

-A motion was made seconded and voted to place the $1800.00 in the contingency account.


Good of the Department:

-Steve Pont will be running for District Tax Assessor.

-Beach parking privileges will be brought up at Annual meeting.

-Fireworks at State Beach on July 23.

-Leave material alone at accident scene as it may be needed for investigation.

-Last month's training session was a good session, the Training Officer is in charge.

-May be doing a "boot drive" at State Beach in July.


A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:28.m.
