The Treasurer reported a balance of $6,932.61, of which $6,221.09 is in the contingency fund. A motion was made, seconded and voted to accept the Treasurer's Report.
Chief Misto: No Report.
Deputy Chief Findeisen: The report on the cascade system and the air compressor is done, the system passed all tests. They will be tested quarterly in the future. There will be an Incident Safety Officer class at the Firefighters Hall in Warwick, contact Fire Academy if interested. The summer traffic season is here, please be careful in POV's and department vehicles.
Deputy Chief Turnberg: No report
Training Officer Mike Misto: We are trying to get a car for fire and extrication training. On the last Tuesday of the month we may train in a house in Westerly on advancing hoselines and addressing exposures.
Committee Reports: Sunshine Committee reports everyone ok. The Fundraising Committee met and discussed fundraising goals. There are still several items under consideration for goals as well as types of fundraisers to raise money. The Incentive Committee reported that the district board made changes to the report to be represented to the taxpayers. There were changes in the incentive amounts but not the qualifying numbers. Beach access to members in good standing was also added. Discussion on the floor followed. It was decided that the Company Captain should send a letter to the board expressing the Company's disapproval of the addition of the beach access to the incentive because it was already voted by the taxpayers to give members in good standing beach privileges.
Communications: Received a letter from Ed Morenzoni resigning his position as Fire Police Captain for health reasons. The members sadly accepted his resignation. Received a letter from Pete Przekop requesting a transfer to inactive status for personal reasons. The request was granted by the members.
Unfinished Business: A motion was made by Ed Morenzoni to accept the By-Law revisions as presented last month as a whole. It was seconded of the floor and the motion was approved. Probationary members Josh Coffin and Jeff Muir were voted in as active members.
New Business: Gil Scott was elected Fire Police Captain.
Remarks for the Good of the Department: Doug Turnberg made a motion to have a testimonial dinner for Ed Morenzoni, the motion was seconded and passed. The dinner will be held June 13th at the Andrea. Matt Bruneill will be taking graduate classes every other Tuesday.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 PM.
