RECREATION COMPLEX ATTENDANT

Overall Responsibility:
To oversee the operation of the recreation complex and maintain control of the area to ensure a safe and clean play environment for individuals using the facilities.
REPORTS TO:
Beach Manager
AUTHORITY:
1. Consult with the Beach Manager on any safety concerns, problems or questions. Any disruption or concern shall be reported immediately to the Beach Manager.
2. The Beach Manager will provide advice on opening and closing of recreation complex due to inclement weather conditions.
DUTIES:
1. As an employee, you are a representative of the Misquamicut Fire District, and must greet the patrons and guests politely and properly, in a friendly and courteous manner.
2. Check condition of courts, address any unsafe conditions.
3. Check condition of equipment, replace as necessary.
4. Open recreation complex, put out game equipment. (Basketballs, volleyball, shuffleboard equipment, etc.)
5. Sweep courts, boardwalk and gazebo and remove any debris to maintain safe condition.
6. Monitor the area for alcohol consumption, notify Beach Manager if observed.
7. Provide record of accidents, document in writing and provide to Beach Manager.
8. Check passes for the use of the courts. Allow only those with proper passes to use the courts.
9. Interact when possible with young guests who may want to play, be a positive influence.
10. Be accessible to lifeguards on Clark Farms Beach - for telephone access in emergency situations.
11. Periodically monitor refuse containers and empty when necessary.
12. Keep gardens, flower containers and area around courts watered and weed free.
13. Scrape, clean and paint facilities as requested to maintain a proper appearance.
14. Provide assistance to vehicles left in parking lots after closing, unlock and lock chains as necessary.
15. Close recreation complex, put all equipment away, empty all trash containers, lock courts and cabinet, and put flags away.
16. Other duties that may be assigned by the Beach Manager.

7. Unless notified to the contrary, you must report at your assigned starting time regardless of weather.
8. In the event you will be absent, please notify the Beach Manager one hour before your assigned starting time.
9. At the discretion of the Beach Manager, on call may be implemented on rainy days. On call pay will be at 50% of your hourly rate. When on call, you must be able to be reached by phone and return to your job location within 30 minutes.
10. If beaches/complex are closed - there will be no hourly wage.
11. You will be paid on a bi-weekly payroll basis. Last pay check to be mailed or picked-up after Labor Day.
12. FICA, federal income taxes and state income taxes will be withheld from your pay.
