TRACTOR OPERATOR

Overall Responsibility:

 

To rake and groom the Misquamicut Fire District beaches and volleyball courts. Perform maintenance or direct the performance of maintenance, as requested, to keep the facilities and structures in good repair.

 

REPORTS TO:

 

District Moderator

 

AUTHORITY:

 

1.                  Groom beach.

 

2.                  Perform maintenance, as requested, to keep beach and recreation complex facilities and structures in good repair.

3.                  Consulting with the Moderator on any safety concerns, problems or questions.

 

DUTIES:

 

Note: The maintenance needs may vary from week to week. The Moderator shall determine the needs and specify the duties for this position.

 

1.                  As an employee, you are a representative of the Misquamicut Fire District, and must greet the patrons and guests politely and properly, in a friendly and courteous manner.

 

2.                  Repair or replace equipment, maintain in good condition at all times.

 

3.                  Perform maintenance as requested to correct deficiencies.

 

4.                  Work with Beach Manager, if requested, to supervise individuals performing maintenance to correct deficiencies.

 

5.                  Consult with the Moderator daily on the condition of the beaches and recreation complex. Request resources needed to maintain safe and clean environment for patrons and guests.

 

6.                  Maintain inventory list of material and supplies, order supplies with Moderator approval.

 

7.                  Check fuel and oil levels in tractor before each use.

 

8.                  Duties may include but not limited to carpentry, electrical, painting or other types of maintenance as needed.

 

9.                  Other duties as assigned by the Moderator.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

 

Note: The Tractor Operator/Maintenance position will in some cases have flexible hours due to weather conditions and tides that may affect beach grooming. Additionally, maintenance needs may vary from week to week.

6.                  In the event you will be absent, please notify the Moderator one hour before your assigned starting time.

 

7.                  You will be paid on a bi-weekly payroll basis. Last pay check to be mailed or picked-up after Labor Day.

 

8.                  FICA, federal income taxes and state income taxes will be withheld from your pay.
